ULBC Camp Tent City

Oh, this brings back the memories. In those days it was Gordie, Bob, and Dave operating Tent City at the Union League Boys Club camp in Salem Wisconsin. We only had the boys two-days at a time on the camp counselors off days. We taught them camping skills like how to build a fire, how to use a hatchet, how to use a compass, and how to purify water. We took them on a hike to Bong Air Force Base then deserted. I took whatever cabin group I had for the day around the lake each morning before breakfast. The Three Musketeers weathered a high wind storm with the kids in the middle of the tents with blankets and mattresses covering them. The tents in question were wall tents on a cement Foundation. As you can see here there are four of them. It was a great summer for all three of us. This post is dedicated to Gordon Payne.
