The 1947 Chicago Cardinals
E
Do you recognize this Stadium? It was the old Comiskey Park in Chicago home of the Chicago White White Sox. AND the Chicago Cardinals. They won it all in 1947. That is when they were still playing football in the NFL on the southside of Chicago. Back in those days when the Cardinals played the Bears it was Big Time football. It was Chicago’s own Superbowl. But in 1959 the Chicago Cardinals moved to St Louis and then several years later to their final resting home in Arizona. The cry of the Cardinals was Go West Young bird. go west! By my way of thinking they should never have left Chicago. If Chicago was big enough for the White Sox and Cubs they should be big enough for the Cardinals and Bears.
Why would the 1959 Grey Cup be played there? It’s Exhibition Stadium in Toronto.
