With the ice covered Big Bass Lake in the background, the Big Bass Lake, which used to be open in the winter before it closed for good, apparently was doing a brisk business on this particular day. I know both Otto Bartlett and Jack Knysz kept the store open when they owned that business.

In winter snowmobilers still need supplies as do the year round residents. Of course, having once lived in Florida for a year, I know that Michigan nearly has as many winter residents in that state as those that already are citizens of Florida, but there are some long time residents that stay at Big Bass Lake year round.

Now the newer Na Tah Ka Store gets that business. In the near future I will have a wider shot of this picture that includes the newer store along with their grill. However, the old Big Bass Lake store, after years of faithful service, is now only a pleasant memory.
