The Two Room Cottage

Just up the hill from our dock the first structure you would see was the old two room cottage. Here it is pictured as the new white cottage was going up and the old cabin being torn down. In the 1950’s it served as guest rooms if the old cabin had an overflow crowd and my sisters often stayed there. In those days the porch was screened in with a yellow bug light.

Each room held a queen size bed with a nightstand and chair. Each room also had a window.

This cottage was also used once in the 1970’s by my boys club when a lightening storm moved us from the wooded beach to the cottage by my grandmother who was worried about us. It appears by this picture that the screens were still intact at this time.

In its later years it was largely used for storage. Currently it is no longer there as the new owners had it torn down but then it had outlived its usefulness.
