Bear Invasion of Big Bass Lake

During winter, the bears (Not the Chicago ones) may come out of the woods hunting birdseed at feeders throughout the area. If your garbage cans have pleasant aromas you might find them there too. With the influx of more bears into the lower penisula they are getting more bold by the day. This photograph was taken close to the channel between Big and Little Bass Lake.

So watch how you take out your garbage and you might want to consider burning anything that has a food aroma to it. As for your birdseed feeders I’ll leave those up to you. Maybe the birds would be better off fending for worms this year? If you choose to do otherwise you just might have to grin and “bear” it this winter.
