The gentleman seen here relates that the ice is only two inches thick on Big Bass Lake and not yet safe enough to walk on past shallow depths. Even now the ice creaks and moans telling its walkers that it’s not yet safe enough to roam anywhere they desire. These are noises that must be heeded at this time of year.
Sure enough, the ice looks clear and welcoming but pay all due heed. Just be patient before venturing out much farther onto Big Bass Lake, Soon it will be quite safe to venture out on the lake and hopefully before a snowfall mars the beauty of the cold, clear ice. Now you can make out the fish beneath the ice clearly, only you don’t want to join them until at least next summer!
Ice skating and snow mobiling will soon be the order of the day. Okay?
