You can say one sure thing about the Ludington Breakwater Lighthouse and that is that it rarely needs to be cleaned.  The waters of Lake Michigan do that quite nicely, thank you!  It does, however, need to be painted periodically as all that pounding water takes its toll on whatever paint job that is presently on that lighthouse.

There are pictures elsewhere on BBL and Beyond that depict how this lighthouse is painted.  Careful planning has to go into that procedure as well as up to the minute weather forecasts so that nothing like this interrupts a paint job.  I have wondered how a wave-like this would sound to someone inside that lighthouse.
